Dandelion press is proud to announce the release of THE PERIODIC TABLE OF DEAF ELEMENTS (PT3).
By using sign language and Deaf culture as a chemistry lab, Silver’s PERIODIC TABLE artwork came out at the 2002 International DEAF WAY Arts Festival in Washington DC. The source of inspiration for the original PT is the United States Census that serves as the leading source of quality data about the nation’s people and economy. Every ten years, the government bureau counts everyone in the U.S. on April 1st.
Ten years later in 2012, the second PT was co-created by Silver and Jim Van Manen.
The ever-changing Deaf World is much like the standard periodic table that evolves from time to time. To mark another decade in 2022, a third PT was produced to follow the decennial census. Along with stunning colors for PT3, the periodic elements are culturally and linguistically far richer than ever.
